Fathers & Sons

Jonah and I went on his very first Fathers & Sons campout this weekend.  Treven had baseball and Wyatt is still to little, so it was just my Jonah Bear and me.  We had a lot of fun.  We left in the early evening and stopped at the Train Station in Heber for dinner heading up to the Heber Valley Camp.  We spotted many deer up there and even had three different moose sightings.  Overall, he had a great time, but every once in a while, he would ask, “We go home now?”  He did not seem to understand that we would be sleeping over, and I am sure he missed his Mommy and little brother.  We had a great time, though we did not sleep much (does anyone at these things).  It was fun to spend some one on one time with my little buddy.

Six Month and 2 year old Pictures

We had to take the opportunity to get some pictures of our two little boys before they grow up even faster.  These are Wyatt’s six month pictures and Jonah’s 2 year old pictures.    This was our first visit to “Pic Couture” and we could not be happier.  They don’t play games about selling you all sorts of prints.  They also don’t make you feel like cattle that they are just trying to get in and out.  They give you a 45 minute session, and give you every photo they take on a CD.  They release the copyright to you, so you can make your own prints.  They offer prints if you want them, for only like $5 each.  We were impressed with the photographers and the end result.  We would recommend them to anyone.  Overall, they did have some amazingly cute little boys to work with, so I can’t give them too much credit.  We love these two little boys and we feel that these pictures capture so much of their cute personalities.  We have been blessed with such cute little boys with such fun personalities.  It is so fun that we get to raise these choice sons of our Heavenly Father.  Unfortunately, we have not been able to get the twins in to have the pictures taken at this time, so we will have pictures of all four kids taken when they are here more in the Summer.

Slave Labor?

 

Our little Jonah loves to be a big helper.  He wants to help with every household chore from dishes to vacuuming, to wiping walls.  He often uses the words “I TRY!” to get us the message that he wants to help.  So this begs the question: are we committing acts that violate laws against child labor?  Has our home become a sweat shop?  Do we have a CinderJonah?  Judging by the copious amounts of toys that we constantly kill ourselves on and the fact that he is very comfortable using the DVD player by himself (something we are not so comfortable with), I feel confident in saying “no.”  Nevertheless he is an extremely sweet and helpful two year old boy.

Go Daddy!

 

Stoplights have become quite an adventure for us lately.  While Treven and Ady get how they work, the two littlest boys have a harder time.  Nearly every time the car stops at a light, Wyatt starts to fuss.  He apparently likes it when the car is moving.  Jonah on the other hand tells whoever is driving to “go.”  He calmly and cutely says “go daddy!”  or “go mommy!”  We have been working with him to know what the green lights and red lights mean.  He will have to figure out that the yellow lights mean to go extremely fast when he gets older. 

Morning Cuddles

These two little boys love to cuddle in the morning.  Jonah is really cute with his little brother Wyatt, and Wyatt is always looking around to see where Jonah is.

Big Boy Bed

Santa brought our two-year-old Jonah some Monster’s University sheets.  So, with the new year comes a big change for our little guy.  He is so excited about the sheets and has graduated from a crib to a big boy bed.  He sleeps on the bottom bunk now of a set of bunk beds that he shares with Treven.  He still has not figured out that it is his room too, as he excitedly exclaims that he is going to sleep in “Trevy’s room” at nap times and bedtime.  He really loves his little brother Wyatt too.  He wanted to share his new bed with him, but maybe got a little too excited to cuddle up to him as one picture looks more WWF wrestling than loving.  Wyatt takes it all in stride though…for the most part. 

 

Jonah’s Birthday and Boating

Today our Jonah Bear turned 2!  Ashley decorated the house with all sorts of Thomas the Train paraphernalia.  She even made him a special Thomas cake and had pictures of him all over the table.  We had an amazing breakfast before going boating with my brother and his family who are visiting from Wisconsin.  We came home in the evening to eat cake and ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa Haberle and open presents.  Jonah was spoiled with several wooden train sets. 

While at the lake, with the largest sandbox a kid could hope for, Jonah could not take his attention off of a tractor working in the distance to repair some of the facilities.  Finally, I decided to drive him closer to get a better look.  We were standing there watching them work when the tractor operator asked if he wanted to help drive the tractor.  As the pictures show, Jonah grabbed those controls and felt that he was a master tractor operator within seconds.  He was excited, but very concentrated as well.  It was priceless.  We had a great day at the lake and Ashley made it a very special birthday for our Jonah.

(Unfortunately, the picture perfect moment of him peacefully asleep exposing his bare- sided bum turned into chaos when the flash went off!)

Yearly Photos

Just had some pictures done and decided to put them on the blog.  Overall, it went well.  As usual, we were able to get plenty of smiles out of our littlest guy, but we could not always control the distraction that the lights were creating for him.  Treven and Ady did great for the most part, as long as they were not too focused on their little brother.  It took only a couple of minutes and we got some great pictures of the kids to hang on the wall!  Ady looks beautiful, we are so grateful that Treven actually has hair, and you can see all six of Jonah’s little teeth in a couple of the pictures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rolling Over - A video for the nay-sayers

Three weeks old and he can already roll over! Haven't been able to capture the back to front roll yet, but I am hopeful I will catch it soon. He was camera shy about showing off his rolling skills for everyone. It took over 10 times to finally capture it. Whenever we don't want him to roll, he does though.

Baby Jonah is Here!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our little Jonah is finally here!  Grandma decided that after a breezy 22 1/2 hours of labor, she would allow him to make his appearance in the world.  He showed up at 5:27AM this morning.  Mom and baby are doing really well.  He weighed in at 8lbs. 3 oz. and was 22 inches long.  We couldn’t be happier.  He has brought such a peace with him and we can’t wait to take him home.  We love you our little Jonah!

Grandma! Grandma! You’ve come back!

I’ve been waiting to see you all day

To feel your hugs and your kisses too

And most of all, to play

Come into my arms, my little one

I’m so glad to hold you again

I sure missed you, my sweet child

Tell me: How have you been?

I’ve been watching from here above

I saw all that you were willing to give

You did so much in your time on earth

I learned from you how I should live

Give one more hug, now let’s play

We can play games or throw a ball

I will read to you, and sing you songs

We’ll take time to do it all!

We’ve now had time to play my child

Come sit on my knee, and let’s talk

Your short time on earth, is about to begin

It’s the place where you’ll play and walk

But, Grandma, you just got here

Can’t I stay for a longer while?

I love to be held, tight in your arms

And I would really miss your smile

I don’t know how I can leave
